PSP Investments appoints new managing director

The Montreal-headquartered pension fund recruits a new head to expand its presence in private debt funds.

Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) has hired Francis Blair as managing director for its private debt team in New York, aiming to tap more distressed debt opportunities.

Prior to Blair’s current post, he is the former partner at Milford Sound Capital, and ex-managing director at Solus Alternative Asset Management.

The C$153 billion pension fund has committed C$8.9 billion to over 60 private debt investments, focused on revolving credit facilities, loans and bonds, with 75 percent of its capital invested in North America and 24 percent in Europe.
