Europe’s largest direct lending market has decreased by 43% in volume over the past two years.

The UK private credit market has witnessed one of the most dramatic drop-offs of any major European market in the past two years, with the volume of deals falling from 275 in 2021 to just 158 in 2023, according to the Deloitte Private Debt Deal Tracker.
