When PEI Media launched the Women of Influence in Private Markets list in 2021, we were flooded with nominations that highlighted the outstanding achievements of women working across alternative assets around the world.

We sought to recognise the myriad ways women demonstrate excellence in private funds, and to shine a light on their accomplishments in an industry that has traditionally been male dominated. The list won plaudits across the finance industry, receiving a highly commended accolade in the Best Editorial Campaign category at the Aviva Investors Sustainability Media Awards 2021.
Our hope, of course, is that the private markets industry progresses to the stage where we no longer need such lists to ensure equal representation. But we are not there yet.
This year, we once again received 600-plus nominations for the list across six categories – private equity, private debt, infrastructure, real estate, venture capital and cross asset class – a testament to the depth of talent in the industry. Our editorial teams at Private Equity International, Private Debt Investor, Infrastructure Investor, PERE and Venture Capital Journal then had the daunting task of selecting just 10 women in each category from the many high-calibre submissions.
Here, we are pleased to present the Women of Influence, class of 2022.
